TRIO VIDEO INTRODUCES NEW T-48 UNIT - 12/04/92
Trio Video, a Chicago-based provider of remote production facilities, has added a new 48-foot unit (T-48) to its fleet.
T-48 has a 59-screen monitor wall, and features a three-tier production area with positions for a technical director/director/producer, an associate producer and split feed, and graphics technicians.
T-48 supports up to 10 Sony 360 and 350 cameras and has four Sony 3100 one-inch tape machines, BVW-75 Beta machine, Abekas A53D DVE with warp and A42 still store, Grass Valley 300 3-M/E Switcher and Chyron 4200 Graphics System.
RTS Intercom and IFB communications have been expanded to 12 channels. The audio board is Soundcraft's new Europa, with 40 inputs.
Jack Walsh, Trio Video partner, said, "Last May, with two teams in the playoffs and two baseball teams in their regular season, it was clear that we needed a bigger truck with more flexibility, and we now have that with T-48. We can now meet every production's specific needs."
Trio Video provided coverage for the NHL playoffs, staffed by nearly 100 crew members. Feeds were provided for HawkVision PPV, Hockey Night in Canada, French-Canadian coverage, SportsChannel America and KDKA, Pittsburgh.
For the NBA playoffs, three Trio Video trucks provided coverage to TNT, SportsChannel and visiting teams' home stations. During the finals, Trio Video provided the NBA's Worldfeed.
T-48 joins a fleet that includes 45-, 30-, and 19-foot trucks.
